Junior Class

Age: 4 to 7

I teach guided drawing at this level. The children follow along as we work our way step by step through our class project. The children learn the basics of drawing.

At the beginning of term they learn how to use watercolor, pastels, sharpies, poster paint.

The emphasis is on enjoying the process finishing pieces of work they can be proud of.

We explore pencil, watercolor  pencils, coloring pencils, watercolor, oil paste, sharpie, paint, chalk pastel, explaining how they work and how they can be used together.

We work on a new class project every week.

Children bring their project home at the end of each class.

Intermediate class

Age 7 to 10

This is a step up from junior class where children start to work independently on individual work.

We follow a step by step system see example below.

Each child chooses their own projects from over 500+ different print outs.

I help each child with their drawing and painting and coloring.

I give each student individual time during each class.

They have access to all the supplies in the art room including professional markers, pastels, watercolor, acrylic, color pencils and much more!

Advanced Drawing Senior class

Age 8 to teens depending on child’s drawing level.

I passionately believe that children can be taught how to draw.

Drawing is a skill that can be acquired just as writing is an acquired skill.

I teach my students how to draw in proportion. We work with pencils, ink, watercolour, charcoal, pastels, acrylics and professional markers. I supply everything.

I have a Library of over a thousand images that students can choose from. Each student works on their own art piece that is personal to them.

I give each student individual time during each class.

I have developed a drawing method that is taught and has to be followed similarly to teaching children how to write. I provide feedback to parents on children’s progress.

It is a parents and child’s decision as to which class is best suited to them. I have found that some children aged 7 and 8 are able for advanced drawing class and some children aged 9 and 10 are not.
